Are you just beginning your photography (or small business) journey?

Announcing my new mentoring program!

Helping other photographers even other small business owners is a wonderfully rewarding feeling. While my current profession involves a passion for creativity, the backbone of any photographer's craft is their business skills. With a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration, I truly enjoy the business side of my creative business. By streamlining processes and organization, your business will become more efficient and create more room for growth.

If you have anything that you are struggling with in your business, I would love to help you talk it through. Treat me to lunch and we can chat about changes that will help you.

I truly love to help!

Additional mentoring available:

Hourly mentoring, $50/hour.

Monthly mentoring program, $300/month; weekday e-mails and a meeting included.

Trinity + Jeremy - Payson Wedding

Trinity + Jeremy - Payson Wedding

Imagine a soft breeze blowing through the trees at the quaint hideaway of Camp Tontozona. Once a retreat and serving as a pre-training site for the ASU football team for 50 years, the wedding of Trinity and Jeremy took place in the cool pines at 5,600 feet elevation, a perfect place to get away from Phoenix, just 90 interesting miles North of Phoenix. Although, it stormed for part of the day, the bride and groom were in great spirits and I believe we still got amazing photos - I mean LOOK at this amazing GREENERY!  Camp Tontozona has seven unique cabins that can meet your every whim. From just escaping to the cool for the weekend for your family, to business retreats, a beautiful site for a refreshing, crisp outdoor wedding, this place has it all. Their website http://tontocreekcamp.com will show you everything to lure you to their charming place of history.

I love to find out how the couple met. For Trinity + Jeremey it was through mutual friends with similar likes. She went to Jeremy’s concert and they ended up hanging out together the next day and Jeremy asked her out on their first date. Their relationship evolved over time getting to know one another. They did a snowboarding trip every year for Jeremy’s birthday and this particular year Jeremy asked a woman on the hill to photograph the two of them. The woman had no idea what was about to happen, and Jeremy got down on his knee saying,” I love you and want to spent the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?” Of course Trinity said, “Yes!” The woman who Jeremy asked to shoot pictures started crying and continued to take some more amazing shots.

Yay, you got this far!  I have to share the sweetest review that this wonderful Groom wrote:

"If you want complete peace of mind that your wedding photos will turn out better than you could ever imagine, then you're only option is to go with Anna! My wife and I could not be happier with the photos, and Anna was extremely easy to work with. Although I had just met her that day, it honestly felt like she was just another one of our friends at the wedding going with the flow of everything and capturing every moment perfectly along the way. She was very professional, and returned photos quickly afterward. I would STRONGLY recommend her to anyone!"

The Importance of Getting Ready Photos

The Importance of Getting Ready Photos

Your wedding is one of the most exciting days of your life where you are surrounded by your closest friends and family. More often, brides are choosing to have their photographer start snapping photos at the same time that their hairstylists and makeup artists arrive, but why? The morning can be hectic, and not everyone likes photos of themselves before they are all done up, but there is an importance to the 'getting ready' photos.

You and your friends or family members do not get hair and makeup done by professionals every day, and capturing the process can be a fun one. Sharing morning mimosas or coffees while propped up in the stylists chair as they artfully curl your hair or blend your eye shadow can make for some quite stunning photos.

Not only that, but photos of everyone getting ready can be cherished among the bride and bridesmaids as photos of everyone together sharing nervous moments before the ceremony, clinking champagne glasses or laughing at a joke someone told. This is also the first time everyone will be all together to try on their dresses, and help the bride into hers.

Upon first thought, these photos may not seem important, but they set the tone for the rest of the photos to come and is important for telling the complete story of your beautiful wedding day. It offers a beginning to the day and everyone can see the first moments when the bride puts on her dress or has her veil perfectly placed in her hair. It can also capture the first time a parent sees their daughter in her wedding gown, and a photographer can seal that moment with a click of the cameras shutter button so that it can be shared with friends and family alike.

Molly + Bryan - Flagstaff, AZ Wedding

Molly + Bryan - Flagstaff, AZ Wedding

I first received and e-mail from Molly which immediately peaked my interest as they said they could help me cross THREE things off my bucket list.  The three items were: a wedding that is a surprise for guests, an elopement and a wedding in Flagstaff.  I’m thankful for the forces in the universe brought them to me and I couldn’t be happier about it.  Their wedding was full of inspiration for me shooting in a new environment, a place that is literally off the beaten path made a beautiful place for their love story to unfold.

Here’s Bryan story of how he proposed to Molly around Valentine’s Day time, “Molly was working late, and I wanted to surprise her, so before she got home I made a flower collar for our (only) dog at the time, Kip. Knowing he would be the first to greet her when she got home. I laid out a trail of rose petals lined with those candy conversation hearts and candles from the front door to the bedroom. (Molly LOVES conversation hearts like no one I've ever met) On the bed were flowers and a list of reasons why I loved her. She loved it!! We cuddled for a bit and then I nonchalantly asked her if she could get something out of my jacket that was hanging on the chair in the room. She dug around for a while and found a candy heart that said "Marry Me?" she turned around and I held up a picture of a ring. (I Let her pick her own later it's not THAT bad) She said "are you serious?!" I smiled and she said "UH, YES!" Once she'd picked out a ring, I did the proper thing and gave my speech, got on one knee... and nailed a second "yes."”

They were married on their beautiful hiking trail, called Aspen Corner located in Flagstaff, AZ.  Bryan got there early and decorated the area with gorgeous paper pom poms and a heart shaped wreath.  The wedding bouquet Molly held was made up of dried roses that Bryan had given her thought out the years, how sweet is that!  They had also prepared a picnic lunch for everyone and cupcakes to celebrate.  The beautiful thoughtfulness that went into their planning showed their love for one another.  Molly’s mother officiated the wedding and it was just as they wanted.  Congratulations to Molly and Bryan.
